Michigan Business Challenge

All Unviersity of Michigan students with business idea who would like to put their ideas and skills to the test against other entrepreneurs should participate in the Michigan Business Challenge. Aside from providing immediate feedback, this format builds networks and rewards successful businesses with prize money. Student entrepreneurs also have the opportunity to compete in additional business plan competitions hosted by other universities.

Design and Control of Hybrid Vehicles

University of Michigan
University of Michigan's Zoran Filipi and Huei Peng will offer a professional short course on the integration of the hybrid vehicle and how systems work together. It is unique because of its focus on modeling and control instead of hardware components. The design method has many other vehicle powertrain applications in addition to hybrids. This dynamic method has been used in designing six different concept vehicles over the last eight years.

Higher Education and Economic Growth in Michigan: Looking Back and Looking Ahead on the Fifth Anniversary of the Cherry Commission

In 2004, Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm charged the Lieutenant Governor’s Commission on Higher Education and Economic Growth with identifying strategies to improve postsecondary attainment and completion in Michigan.
To mark the five-year anniversary of the Cherry Commission, leaders of the education and business communities in Michigan will address the past, present, and future of higher education and economic growth in Michigan.

Medical Entrepreneur Program

As part of its Medical Entrepreneur Program, the Medical Innovation Center offers series of online videos enhanced with professionally facilitated discussion sessions. The series focuses on the "front end" of the innovation process...identifying and validating strong clinical needs for ideas that will actually be adopted. The sessions begin January 18, 2010 and continue weekly through March. Pre-registration for this free educational opportunity is required.
